What are Honeycomb's rate limits (events per second) for sending events?
Last updated: March 25, 2026
For Enterprise and Pro tiers, Honeycomb enforces a rate limit of 15,000 events per second (EPS) with a burst capacity of 120,000 events for one-second intervals.
Free tier plans are limited to 2000 EPS.
If any traffic destined for a single dataset exceeds these limits, Honeycomb will rate limit the traffic, emitting a 429 "request dropped due to rate limiting" server response from our Events API.
For information on pricing for events over time, visit our Pricing Page and scroll down to the Events section of the FAQ.
